Pumpkins with Attitude

Bits and pieces of old jewelry, lace, buttons, watches, hardware, and tarnished silver pieces brought these little pumpkins to life.  I think it's their hands-on-hips pose that give them sass and attitude.

Their facial features and accessories are all held in place with Tacky glue and a few straight pins.

A slight shift in the placement of the mouth really changed her mood.  I glued a smile on her face and didn't notice that the rhinestones slid down a little on the right side giving her a worried look....I like it.  Her bow is a shoe clip, the earrings are actually earrings, a tiny buckle for a nose, glass bead eyes, and watch hand eyebrows.

She looks so jolly with her big smile and a rhinestone gleam in her eyes.  Her nose came from the back of an old alarm clock, and her little ears are eye hooks.

She thinks her eyes from manual typewriter "I" keys are her best feature, but I think it's her brass and rhinestone mouth that was once part of a brooch, or maybe her fancy hat.

Halloween decorations
I have some earrings made with the same vintage buttons.

I removed the paper shavings for a better look at those fabulous legs.
Next year they'll get a new head, but their faces can be popped right off and stored in a zip lock bag all ready to go next season.

  8. Talk about a "Why didn't I think of that?" project! How did you come up with the silver urns as the base? Were the hands on hips a coincidence? They all look so jaunty. Fashionable Fall decor. Perfect.
