New Batch of Hardware Necklaces

I took a little break from the junk factory out in my garage so I could whip up another batch of hardware necklaces.  My next show is less than three weeks away, so the race is on to get my jewelry inventory topped off along with all the other projects I have lined up out there.

A lineup of typewriter keys, watch faces, skeleton keys, keyholes, beads, and rhinestones.

I always use a matte acrylic sealer on each hardware piece to keep that fabulous patina
from chipping.

The Shift Key is set inside some kind of hose connector; I thought it was a doorknob plate, but it has threads around the outside of the hole.  The rhinestones kick it up a notch.

Fly away.

I still have more waiting to be put together, but for now, it's back to the junk factory in the garage for more sorting, cleaning, and creating.

  4. Love every single one of them. I have owned a soldering tool for a while and never get up the nerve to use it and need to. Each of these is a wondrous piece of art.

  7. Here is one of the things I love about your work, Betsy. You can buy similar "junk" at Michaels for crafting and jewelry making but everything you make is the real deal, made with genuine junk. The creative vision you have to find these things and then repurpose them into something amazing makes your work so extra special!
