My Little Corner

Just wanted to share a couple of pictures I took after getting all set up in my new little corner over at Paris Flea Market in Livermore, Ca.

Kind of cozy don't you think?

It's a little dark down here, but you get the idea.  It's nice to be able to utilize the drawer space for extra jewelry and stamped silverware.

I've been doing a lot of painting over the last few weeks.

Another view of my corner.
The blue and green hutch next door is now stocked full of CeCe Caldwell's paint....a favorite gathering place.

These last four pictures were taken of a few other spaces at Paris Flea Market.  Not everyone was finished setting up, but I sure like what I see so far.

Love this lampshade.
Looking forward to a great four day sale!!

I'm switching gears here, but I wanted to tell you about a little mishap that took place out in my garage the other day.  I keep all my inventory except for jewelry stored out there, and it's usually covered up to keep it all clean until I'm preparing to go to a show.  The other day, Mr. MST decided it was time to lubricate a section of the automatic garage door gears while my inventory was still uncovered.....naked and exposed.  See where I'm going with this?  I had no idea flying drops of oily lubricant from the faulty spray can (of course it gets blamed on the can) could do so much damage.  Horror I tell you!!  Chalkboards, table cloths, freshly painted frames, and just about any other porous surface was a victim.

After dozens of choice words and several "cleansing breaths," the cleanup began.  Some things were spot sanded and repainted, others got a good scrubbing, and thank goodness there was only one casualty out of the bunch.  No, it wasn't Mr. MST.  Never let a man on a mission with a can of anything near your stuff!

  1. One time Steve spilled a can of oil on my favorite wicker chair. It was right before our big move. He just shoved it in the moving truck and told Alex not to say anything!
(like I would'nt figure it out) Try
to get motor oil out of all those wicker slats? NOT!

A man with a can...there should be warning labels! Glad you were able to salvage most everything! I'll bet that garage door gets very hard to open before he attempts that again! xx

Your space is positively amazing. Wish I could see it in person! Do you have to tear it down after only 4 days or are they just open 4 days at a time or what?

  21. Your booth looks so inviting, Betsy. Can't believe you managed to get all that mess cleaned up after the mishap. I felt a stab of panic at the thought of what you must have felt seeing your treasures oil spattered. Cleansing breaths are a good start but you have to have a good heart to handle such things with aplomb. Congrats on making it through. Hope the sale was fantastic! Loved seeing the pictures.
