Vintage Treasures from Mes Amis

It was touch and go with the iffy weather forecast leading up to the Mes Amis Vintage Antique Show last Saturday.  It poured and poured all day on Friday, we had a little rain on Sunday, but the day of the show turned out to be gorgeous.

Plan A was to bring just enough inventory to fit under the canopy, but I switched to plan B and loaded my truck to capacity when the forecast improved for Saturday.

The trees were dripping until the sun came up, so all the metal, chippy wood, silver, and everything else that wouldn't be damaged by a little drizzle, found a spot out from under the canopy.

She took shelter under the canopy until it was safe to come out.  I just finished her a few days before the show and didn't want to bring her back home for body repairs.

My neighbor on the other side - Rusty Clover

My neighbor across the street - The Vintage Bricoleur

Let's take a walk down the street.....

Burlap and Bees

This was the final show for Mes Amis at this outdoor location.  The next show will be held at the Placer County Fairgrounds on September 19th and 20th, just a stone's throw down the road.  You're all invited!

  2. Oh, so much vintage goodness. I love that dress form covered in pattern paper! I have a torso manny sitting in my attic waiting to be a display piece in my imaginary mall booth and may have to borrow that idea.

  10. Oh, that looks like such a fun show.

I pinned the birdcage full of starfish. I have a birdcage filled with numbers right now, but I like the shell idea.

  12. Hi Betsy, You must have heard my sighs all the way to CA. I fell in love with so many items. What a wonderful show! I really like the setting with the pretty houses in the back. An indoor show certainly has its advantages too. I'm glad you had great weather and could bring more inventory.
    Have a lovely week!
    Hugs,
    Julia

  17. Betsy, I look through your pictures about 5 times...No I did not look I studied them, you do such a great job of displaying and your goods are soooo cool...I/m just not cool, but I did pick up a lot of display Ideas for my fluffy stuff at the Polka Dot Flea....Oh I wish you lived in town, I would give you the best booth at the show!! I was thinking about getting flowers, do you use real flowers in your displays?

  18. I agree with Carol...You have such awesome displays. I'm curious. In the picture right below your "new" dress form, is that an old metal chair back posing as a magnetic board? Love it! Glad the weather cooperated for your show!!!

  20. So happy to hear the weather cooperated for you. Shows are enough work as it is without mopping up and drying out your wares. It all looks amazing and I hope to make it a Mes Amis event one of these days. I did the Sacto-PDX drive in one day and it wasn't bad at all. ;)
