Autumn Issue of Jewelry Affaire Magazine and a Necklace Giveaway

I was dancing the happy dance (good thing you couldn't see me) when I opened up my complimentary copy of Jewelry Affaire magazine the other day.  I knew these tiny treasure box necklaces were going to be published in the Autumn issue, but it was still so exciting to actually see them in print, up close and personal.

Several months ago I discovered two of these little boxes at an antique show and I knew right away I wanted to fill them with tiny treasures and make necklaces out of them.

One box was filled with mother of pearl vintage buttons, and the other with the tiniest seashells from my collection.  Three pastel vintage button charm clusters were added to the bottom of each box.

I attached a silver chain to the decorative bail on the box of buttons, then I created a chain of beads and mother of pearl buttons for the box of shells.

A big THANK YOU to Natalie Way, the new editor of Jewelry Affaire, and their entire staff of designers and photographers.

I recently found more of these sweet little boxes and made up three necklaces to list in my Etsy shop for when the Autumn issue was released.  The three I listed the other day sold right away, and the two that were featured are still with the publisher.  But...I saved this one!!!
I saved this one for one of my My Salvaged Treasures followers.

The tiny aluminum box with hard plastic cover is 7/8" square and just 5/8" thick.  I filled this one with little shells, attached a three button cluster charm to the bottom, then made a wrapped bail to accommodate the 27" long silver chain.  The chain is 27" long including the flower toggle clasp, but I'd be happy to make it any length you'd like.
