Buried Treasures and a Necklace Giveaway Winner

I've been on a closet reorganization mission, but I'm not just reorganizing.  I'm rediscovering. We have one of those closets in the upstairs hallway that holds everything from linens to first aid supplies, old photo albums to sleeping bags, and light bulbs to old books. OK, there was a lot more stuffed into that closet, but you get the picture.

Look what I just became reacquainted with.  A couple of scuffed up books might not look like much, but what are the chances that I'd ever find a book with my name on it?  Elizabeth Ann is my legal name on my birth certificate, and Betsy is my nickname.  I found one of these at an antique show a few years ago, but I still can't remember where the other one came from.

If I ever write a book about my spring vacation, you probably know what the beginning, middle, and end will be about.

I have a lot in common with this Elizabeth Ann.  We both love our vintage luggage.

I get asked this question all the time when I drag things home from yard sales.

I also have a lot in common with this Betsy.

Wild horses can't keep us away from a good junking adventure.

Sometimes we both have to put up with unruly shoppers at an estate sale.

We both like to show off our vintage treasures.

One thing's for sure, they're not going back in the closet!!  Who knows, I might even find time to read them one of these days.

  14. "Betsy in Spite of Herself" is one of the books in a ten book series by Maud Hart Lovelace. They are about her life - she just changes some names and a few details here and there. The first book is Betsy-Tacy in which Betsy meets her best friend for life at age five. In real life, Maud met her best friend at age five and they were still beasties well into their 90s!!!! What a gem. I read the whole series as an adult and am now a member of the Besty-Tacy Society. I recommend starting at the beginning and reading all 10 books. They are wonderful.
