Create a Flower with Salvaged Junk

Just when I thought it was safe to stop checking the front porch for holiday package deliveries, look what arrived on my doorstep on New Year's Eve.

bits and pieces of vintage treasures for repurposing
Feast your eyes on this pile of goodies that Kathy from Kluless sent to me! So much potential. So many ideas. Where do I begin?

After examining every piece of potential, I decided to start with the wrought iron flower looking thing and the little garden fence. I plucked the old drawer front from my box of scrap wood and didn't even bother painting it.

Salvaged junk = whimsical flower wall art.

I glued a mother of pearl button in the center, then added a vintage clip-on earring for a pop of color.

use vintage lace and film negatives to create wall art
I used vintage lace for the stem and negatives for the leaves.

how to use film negatives to create 3 dimensional leaves
This kind of negative.
Bending the leaves down the center gives them a 3-D look.

create something wonderful from nothing much
This card really sums it up! Do you get joy from nothing much?

A little bit of spring for these cold and gloomy winter days!
Thanks for all the junk, Kathy.

  21. By far the snazziest wall art flower scene I have ever seen! When i read the post title I imagined flowers made of stacked junk...that's where my mind normally goes. When I saw the picture I went, wow! That's how you go further and bigger! The negative leaves are so cool.
