X & O Valentine's Day Greeting

I don't usually decorate for Valentine's Day, but I do like to create a few little things that can easily be changed out to suit any occasion or holiday.

Valentine's Day Greeting made with vintage bits and pieces
This year I came up with a quick and easy magnetic chalkboard sign made from bits and pieces of old stuff.

create chalkboards with vintage tart pans
This is what I started with. I'm not sure what the rusty old thing with the metal rod was originally used for, but it sure makes an interesting base!  I made the chalkboards from some old tart tins a few months ago.

use magnets to attach metal parts
The secret ingredient that holds everything together is this tiny little magnet. I love these things! You can find them right here: Super Strong 10mm Magnets (*Amazon affilliate)

X & O magnetic letters on a chalkboard
The rusty X & O letters are also attached with tiny magnets. Pop 'em on and pop 'em off!

Valentine's Day greeting made from vintage components
For a touch of color and contrast, I added some greenery in a piece of cranberry glass that once belonged to my grandmother. A small flower frog in the center holds the sweet vintage card in place.

repurposed tart pan with chalkboard and rhinestones for Valentine's Day
Here's another version using the smaller tart pan with a rhinestone heart embellishment. Gotta love those tiny magnets!  So simple to change out for any occasion.
