A Second Life for Some Funky Junk

I've been taking advantage of our cooler than average weather the last couple of days and finally got around to some repurposing projects out in the garage.

First operation was this 1972 lamp I bought  at a yard sale a couple of months ago for $5.00.  I hauled it around to a couple of shows and not one person even asked about it.  No surprise there.  What was I thinking?  The glass had a big hole in the bottom where the cord passed through; so much for the vase idea.
I painted the bottom portion white and will use that in another project.

I spray painted the ring black and then cut out a circle from a $1.00 garage sale cork board.  I covered the cork board with burlap, glued it in from the back, and added a heavy silver chain that used to be a necklace.....

From ugly duckling lamp to a functional frame.
This is a side shot to show the detail of the ring.

Second operation:  I found  this strange, heavy iron, screw looking thingy at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago.  I'm still not sure what it was.....

Now it's a picture holder!
I sprayed it with a matte sealer and then coiled some wire around it.  The wire was easy enough to shape but heavy enough to stay in place.

I don't have a before picture of this third remake because I repurposed it a couple of months ago.
The chippy frame used to be a house number/address sign.  I added some vintage sheet music, some little flat back stones, and a chain for hanging.
