Let Freedom Ring

Is it really July already? I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the entire first half of the year. Who can relate? I ran out of time for any hopes of some serious 4th of July holiday decorating, so I opted for a quick makeover to one of my vintage rake picture holders.

create a 4th of July vignette with vintage treasures
I created a Let Freedom Ring stencil with my Silhouette Cameo and stenciled it on a strip of jute webbing. So quick and easy, but it looked so lonely.

But wait! Look what arrived in the mail just as I was trying to figure out what I could
 add to my lonely sign.....
vintage red, white, and blue bits and pieces
I was the lucky giveaway winner of  these red, white, and blue vintage bits and pieces from Linda at Itsy Bits and Pieces.  So much potential in this pile of vintage goodies. Thank you, Linda!

create a 4th of July display with vintage bits and pieces
A cobalt blue bottle from my collection was the perfect size for the Columbia Perfume Co. hair tonic label. I made a copy of the label and attached it to the bottle with Mod Podge. Vintage playing cards and FLAG game cards are proudly displayed in four tiny flower frogs.

decorate a vintage clothes brush for holding pictures and cards
An old wooden clothes brush is a simple way to display a couple of patriotic cards. I just wrapped the vintage red, white, and blue ribbon around the edge and taped it in the back.
