A Few Farm Fresh Painted Projects

It's been a busy week around here as I continue to gather, organize, and transform some of what's been lurking out in my garage.  Here's a small sampling of some of the junk I've been working on:

Farm fresh upcycled projects
Group hug. Three small projects and one tiny project.

Before pictures
The lovely before beauty shots.

stenciled and painted wooden box
I painted the rustic box with watered-down Duck Egg Chalk Paint, then stenciled it with "FARM fresh" courtesy of my Silhouette.

repurposed painted and decorated sewing machine drawer
I added a piece of decorative hardware to the side of this old sewing machine drawer, then painted and distressed it.  It still needed a little something extra, so I added a small jewel to the center of the hardware and a piece of rusty fencing to the other side.  Perfect for holding pictures or some fun vintage flash cards.

Family and Friends gather here painted stenciled tray
The ugly orange wooden serving tray got a coat of paint and a quick update with a French stencil: Family and Friends gather here.  The grain sack stripe was a simple addition with the help of some blue painter's tape.

stamped garden markers tutorial
Last but not least, I stamped two blank garden markers with Farmhouse and Cottage. You can see my metal stamping tutorial here.

It's supposed to be 105 degrees today and there's still so much to do out there in the sauna garage before next week's vintage show. I'm SO ready for fall!!  How about you?

I always love your projects, Betsy...the way you embellished the side of the drawer...and that tray is totally transformed!

Oh, you had too much fun. Great job, especially like the sewing drawer, the doo-dads they put on them were awesome, hate to think how many have ended up in the dump. Beautiful!

Oh Betsy, would you mind if I used your idea for the sewing machine drawer? I have one that I love -- it's very pretty but what I love about yours is the fencing. Really sets it off nicely. They're all quite wonderful. Excellent use of vintage!

The FARM fresh box and the tray appeal to me, but I love the fence part on the sewing machine drawer. Hope I have a box to do the farm fresh stencil. Thanks for the inspiration.

The use of the wire is inspired! Hope you have some cooler weather soon. We will be in Amador County the week after next and hoping the fires have abated by then. What a Summer!

Wonderful projects, Betsy! The tray was a really ugly duckling but you turned it into something gorgeous. I love the little "fence" you added to the sewing machine drawer. Great idea!
We had some days with pleasant temperatures but this week they're supposed to go up again. At least it cools down nicely during the nights. I hope that fall is around the corner for you.
    Have a great week!
    Hugs,
    Julia

I can't remember if I've replied on your blog before, but I have been reading for a while, and love everything! I've bought a few wooden bits and pieces with the intention of upcycling them with a paint job, but never braved the painting part yet! You make it look so easy , I especially love the tray :)

    So cute!
We aren't as hot as you are, only in the 80s, but our Fall Show starts tomorrow and it still feels like Summer!

Another great transformation, Betsy. The weather is still quite horrid here as well, hot and humid.
