I'm sure that most of you know by now just how much I love little storage containers. Industrial style metal drawers, boxes, cubbies, jars, bins, and baskets. I love them all, especially when they have so much vintage charm.
My original plan was to put a chalkboard label on the side of each canister so I could identify the contents. I just wanted to fill them, stack them, then be done with them.
Just $1.00 each at the Alameda Antique Faire.
They were just too sad and plain looking, so I decided to pretty them up with hardware and rhinestones. I drilled a hole in the lid and attached the pink knob with a bolt and nut. All the other parts were glued on with E6000. That's an old painted doorknob
escutcheon hole cover under the bling.
The blue painted knob and pink earring are glued on, and the faucet handle is bolted from the inside.
My thimbles finally made their way out of a zip lock bag.
A perfect size for storing tiny pieces of vintage lace.
Even if I forget all about what's stored inside each one, at least I'll enjoy looking at them. Maybe I should still add those chalkboard labels.
