Thanksgiving Greetings ~ Magnetic Card Holders

It's been another busy week around here without a lot of time for creating, but I was determined to sneak in a little play time with some of the new-to-me junk parts I've been accumulating. Decisions, decisions! What should I make? How about a trio of magnetic card holders?

Junky flower picture holders
My inspiration came from these junky flower picture holders I created last year.

This year I started with a pile o' miscellaneous lamp parts and one unidentified piece of junk.

I added vintage buttons and remnants of broken jewelry because no junky magnetic card holder would be complete without a little sparkle.

See that magnet?  It may be tiny, but it's mighty strong and it does a great job holding everything together.
 No glue necessary.

Stenciled Window Advertising Sign

I love it when inspiration strikes and I finally decide what to do with something that's been sitting around for ages. Even though there's a small crack in the upper right corner, I knew this old window with its textured/frosted glass had some potential.

When Angie (Knick of Time) sent me a couple of her Vintage Sign & Inspirational Stencils to try out, I immediately thought of this window and how it would be a perfect candidate for an advertising sign.

How to stencil using a paint pen
I started by centering and taping the stencil upside down on the back of the window, then I decided to try something a little different.

Paint pen to the rescue! I had to go over the letters twice because they looked a little streaky the first time around, but it was so easy and the paint stuck like glue!

How to stencil on glass with a paint pen
To fill up more space on the glass, I manipulated the 16" x 8 3/4 version of the Farmhouse Flour Sack stencil by centering the word Flour and filling in the bridges. I replaced the small rolling pin with the large rolling pin from the Mrs. Claus Cookie Co. stencil. I love being able to mix and match!!
No need to adjust your glasses if it looks a little blurry; it's just the textured/frosted glass.

It needed a little something extra, so I added a rusty window pull to each side. Perfect for hanging kitchen accessories or whatever my heart desires.
