First Junking Day of 2015

I don't know about all of you, but I finally figured out where I left off before the rush of the holidays.  My regular routine (whatever that was) has slowly found its way back into my days and now I'm anxious to get this new year off to a good start.  It's been a few months since I had time to get over to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire for a good day of junking, so when the weather forecast looked promising on Sunday, out I went.  Between shopping, visiting with friends, eating, and drooling over things I want, but don't need, it's always fun to take pictures along the way.  Let's take a look around.....

rusty vintage metal storage drawers
I could sure stuff a lot of stuff in here and still have room for more stuff!

drive in movie speakers
Remember these?

1960s dining room chairs
What can I say?

large rocking horse
This over sized rocking horse got my vote for Largest of Show.  Last time it was an enormous head, and the time before that it was a gigantic missile.  They grow them big out here!

Vintage Perfection oil can
I loved the graphics on this giant oil can.

vintage toy truck
This was my favorite thing I didn't buy.  So darn cute, but way too expensive for something not on my focus list.

I always do some picking here at Fun Junk.

vintage colorful faucet handles
Vintage hardware heaven in Albie's booth S01.
vintage hardware

vintage door knobs

Atelier De Campagne
Atelier De Campagne always has one of the best looking spaces!

Raise your hand if you like these vintage metal glove molds.

vintage display using old doors
Love those doors and some of the pretty vignettes in this booth.

50% off.  My kind of sale!

large vintage cleaners sign
This very cool CLEANERS sign doesn't look big in the picture, but it had to be at least 6 feet long.

Just because it made me laugh out loud...and they had some pretty cool stuff.  Old Fart Art.

Laugh Out Loud LOL sign

vintage foosball table
Foosball anyone?

Vintage jeweled Christmas tree
Just in case you need a little more vintage Christmas inspiration.

What did I buy?  I behaved myself and only bought what would fit in my shopping cart without having to reload.  I'll show you what was inside my cart just as soon as I have a chance to get some pictures.  Happy treasure hunting!

I'd love for you to stay connected with My Salvaged Treasures.  I'm just one click away.

  1. Scuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard! Gorgeous pics! But Betsy, WHAT was that terrifying metal thing in the 2nd pic?

  2. Love all the junk! I need to go to Alameda Pt. soon too! Maybe we can meat up on a Sunday?

  5. Oooooh, I'd have a field day there! So let me ask you: that first photo of the metal drawers - I have a larger version and I'm trying to figure out how to clean it up and make it a little more pretty. Any thoughts?????

  6. Like Michelle, I'm wondering what that metal thing is...Thought I had seen it all, but apparently not! It was fun following along with you on your junking trip. Brought back memories of junking in's just not the same in Alabama. Also, thank you for introducing me to the new part over at Bella Rosa Antiques. I joined in on the fun and can't wait for more!

  7. Hi there friend! I heard it was quite cold that day at The Pointe. I LOVE that Cleaners sign!!! Looks like fun stuff this month. I plan on going in March, weather permitting. We will have to go sometime.

  8. Wow! what great stuff! I would have be in heaven at the hardware table.....don't need any of it! I would love to be able to go to that show! I made a trip in the minus degree weather today to the local VOA. They had 30% off + my 20% off senior discount. Will be doing a post soon on my treasures!

  9. You sure know how to start the year off right...junkin', junkin', and more junkin'! It too me a moment to remember what "those" were and then the lightbulb when off and I got a huge smile on my face. Drive in theater speakers. I haven't seen those around in ages!

  10. You must be very disciplined!!! What a colossal amount of goodness. I want one of everything from a couple of those booths. Thanks for the pics, even though it's not here I love seeing what's out there!!!
    Best ~ Mickie.

  13. It is ok....I needed to howl and drool a little for today. I want that truck! I know I can't afford that truck, but I want it!!

  14. Oh still my heart!! I see some awesome pieces that would be great to use in jewelry making.
I have to wait until May until we have any outdoor flea markets. We have 6 inches of snow on the ground and a wind chill of -17 right now! Now I'm going to go back and drool over all your great photos.

  26. What a fun way to spend a day!
No, I do not remember "these". What the heck is that contraption??

  27. Sigh. I can only dream of places to find such treasures, Betsy. I think I would have rummaged for hours in all the boxes with the hardware. I love that metal box and the oil can and look forward to seeing what you've bought.
    Have a great weekend!

  28. Alameda Faire is on the top of my bucket list!!! I'm so happy that you took us along for your junkin' adventure! I love those little drawers in the first picture and I'm giving my age away when I immediately recognized those drive-in movie speakers. Yikes! I also like that truck that you didn't buy.
