Build a Christmas Tree with Junky Lamp Parts

Just when I thought it was safe to put away my stash of lamp parts from my last project, I realized that I had enough parts left over to make one more junky lamp tree.

No valuable or functional lamps were harmed in the making of this tree.

I played around with various parts and finally narrowed it down to the pile you see here. Two of the pieces got a quick paint job so they'd blend in better with the group.

I lined up all the parts in the correct stacking order. There is a method to this madness.

I started stacking 'em up.

Then I topped it off with a cookie cutter star. Just a dab of E6000 holds it in place.

Three reasons why I never pass up cheap, ugly, or broken lamps.

It's Time for Hot Cocoa

I finally finished up all my handmade Christmas gifts for the year! I certainly enjoyed every moment of the process, but it's always a relief when I can finally call it done.
Stenciled hot cocoa sign on reclaimed wood
When I received this Christmas Blend Hot Cocoa stencil to try out from Donna at Funky Junk Interiors, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. The stencil is more of a square shape, but it was really easy to play around with the placement and just use the elements that fit on these 20" x 8" boards.

how to make a sign out of old drawer sides
I knew I was saving the sides of a broken old drawer for some reason. I didn't even bother patching the nail holes. Nail holes are good!

The stars were stenciled with metallic gold paint, then a tiny Swarovski crystal was glued in the center of each star for a little sparkle.

I added a couple of eye hooks and twine for hanging. The mini chalkboard says OPEN on one side and CLOSED on the other.

Hot cocoa stenciled sign with Old Sign Stencils and cup hooks
Two hot cocoa signs are better than one.
I played around with the placement of the stencil again, then added three cup hooks to the bottom of the sign.

The trees are topped off with two metallic silver stars and one decorative silver star charm.

Oh what fun it is to play with Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils!!!
